Brazilian wing Pedro Pastre continues to build one of the most impressive trajectories among Latin American prospects. In a landmark stretch for the 19-year-old from Curitiba, Pastre has officially committed to Georgetown University, received yet another call-up to the Brazilian Senior National Team, and climbed to the #6 spot in the Latin Prospects ranking.
Georgetown Bound
Pastre has officially committed to the Georgetown Hoyas, joining Head Coach Ed Cooley’s program for the 2026–27 season. The 6’6″ forward arrives from Pinheiros, one of the top clubs in Brazil’s Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB), where he averaged 7.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists while logging over 25 minutes per game as a 19-year-old competing against seasoned professionals.
The connection between Pastre and Georgetown traces back to last summer’s Globl Jam tournament in Canada, where the Brazilian scored 16 points in the championship game to lead Brazil past the Hoyas 77-73. That performance put him firmly on Cooley’s radar. At Georgetown, Pastre will reunite with fellow Brazilian Gabriel Landeira, who joined the program earlier this season.
Senior National Team
Pastre’s rise at the club level has translated directly into international recognition. The Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CBB) has once again included him in the senior national team roster for the final window of the first phase of the FIBA World Cup 2027 Qualifiers, with games against Venezuela and Colombia set for early July. Since his first senior call-up in November 2025 — when coach Aleksandar Petrovic selected him at just 18 years old for the qualifiers against Chile — Pastre has become a consistent presence in the national team setup, featuring in every window since.
Ranking Update
Following his Georgetown commitment and continued involvement with the senior national team, Latin Prospects has elevated Pedro Pastre to #6 in its ranking. His combination of professional experience in one of the Americas’ top leagues, a proven track record with Brazil’s senior squad, and now a move to a Big East program, makes him one of the most well-rounded prospects in the region.
